Common causes of a sudden HRV drop
Before assuming a low reading means you're overtraining, rule out the more common and temporary causes: a short or poor night of sleep, alcohol the evening before, early illness (HRV often drops before other symptoms appear), unusual life stress, dehydration, or simply an unrecovered hard session from the day before.
